By Design is an award winning full service interior design firm that specializes in universal kitchen and bath design, remodel plans, material selection, space planning, additions, interior architectural design and furniture selection with an emphasis on sustainable design and materials. Woodmode and Brookhaven Fine Custom Cabinetry is available exclusively through By Designs in Yolo County. A complete collection of cabinetry door and finish samples, counter top samples, tile options and flooring material samples is available for selection in the design studio.

Initial meetings concentrate on identifying your needs and desires for the space being created or remodeled. This is the time to share your wish list, notes, picture collections and ideas. In depth questions on how you cook, entertain and work in your home, how you spend your leisure time and the recreational needs of your family all contribute to discovering your design priorities.

Based on information gathered, the existing conditions and architectural details, if appropriate, preliminary design ideas with several carefully constructed design solutions will be presented for your review.

Each plan is analyzed and discussed, the advantages and disadvantages outlined, providing you with carefully considered choices. The relative investment figures for each solution are presented whenever possible to assist you in making informed decisions regarding the best plan for you.

Together we perfect the selected plan. Assistance with material selection, appliance and fixture selection, and lighting ensures a cohesive design scheme that will integrate seamlessly with your existing home.

A complete set of plans with detailed specifications describing the construction work, appliance selection, architectural details, lighting, fixture and mechanical selections will document the design process. This same process is available for the interior detailing of new construction projects.
